Hello, we're very excited here at Taquizas José because Christmas is just around the corner!
So while we get ready for it and start our early decorations, we want to remind you the importance of the holiday spirit! it's not about the gifts, it's about spending quality time with the people you love, so don't forget to tell them how much you care.
And speaking of your family and Friends, how do you celebrate Christmas? Is it very traditional or do you have some crazy antics going on?
In México, for example, we start celebrating from December 16th up to Christmas Eve with small parties called “posadas”. Posada is Spanish for Inn or Lodging.
These posadas celebrate the part of the Christmas story where Joseph and Mary were looking a place to stay.
Kids are given candles and they sing songs in every house on the way to the party. When they arrive, they are given candies and Mexican food like tamales and they get to break piñatas!
It's a very warm time for kids and Mexican families, that's why we love Christmas so much!
But there are weirder traditions around the world. In Italy, for example, kids wait for the arrival of Befana instead of Santa Claus. Befana is a friendly witch who delivers sweets and toys.
And in Austria, kids live in fear of the Krampus, a Christmas devil who beat naughty kids with tree branches!
And the food gets weirder too! In South Africa for example, locals have a traditional dish of deep fried caterpillars!
But no matter how people celebrate Christmas, its all about spending time together and sharing love, that's why we wrote these post because we want to wish you happy holidays with all your loved ones
And remember if you do an early Christmas party, don't forget to invite us! Christmas is all about love and guess what? tacos too!
